Visual research project, Gruyère, Switzerland
La Microflore du Gruyère (Gruyère’s Microbiome), is a visual research project realized in Gruyère, Switzerland. The project transforms gathered artefacts and architectural wonders of Gruyère’s magical town, into an imagined microbiome for its emblematic cheese: the Gruyère.
The different artefacts and elements of inspiration were collected through sketching, photography and observation in the castle of Gruyère, walking around the town and looking at ornements on houses, and visiting the H.R. Giger museum (the singular swiss painter behind the characters of the “Alien” movies.
